Grandparent Scam and Neighbor Smacks Neighbor

The following information came from the Marblehead Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.


Sunday, July 28

  • At 2:01 a.m., police received a report of a loud party on Linden Street. The homeowner agreed to turn down the music and said that people will start to go home.
  • At 9:28 a.m., a caller reported dropping a black leather wallet Saturday somewhere between the Driftwood and the Landing.
  • At 1:09 p.m., police received a report that two women took a dress from a Washington Street store. The dress was valued at $86.
  • At 4:35 p.m., police received a report from a State Street caller who said a woman came from downstairs and smacked him with an open hand after a verbal confrontation.
  • At 7:06 p.m., a Norman Street caller asked for an officer to return to the residence so she could file a restraining order against her ex-husband.
Monday, July 29
  • A 8:32 a.m., police received a report of a dead skunk on Harbor Avenue. The DPW was called.
  • At 12:36 p.m., a Haley Road caller reported a possible phone scam: "caller reported that someone called her saying it was her  grandson and he was stuck in a prison in the Dominican Republic and that she should wire 1500 dollars to them. She told them to call their mother and hung up on them. She believes it was a scam but just wanted to make a note of it in the logs."
  • At 11:07 p.m., police received a report that a man was injured on Commercial Street. The man was on the rocks. He was transported to the hospital.
