The case of a local man who allegedly dropped a 6-year-old boy on his head last year was continued without a finding for 12 months.
If Christopher Stiefel, 28, of 89 Essex St., Swampscott, abides by conditions set by Lynn District Court for those 12 months his case will be dismissed.
The conditions are the following: abide by a restraining order, stay away and have no contact with the victim, attend anger management classes and remain drug and alcohol free with random screens, according to the court record.
The continuance was agreed to in Lynn District Court on Tuesday.
According to the police report on the incident, Swampscott officers responded on Feb. 5, at 11:16 p.m. to Essex Street for a report of a domestic dispute involving children.
Responding officers were met by a woman who told them that earlier in the day Stiefel, her live-in boyfriend, had dropped her 6-year-old son on his head on a hardwood floor to teach him a lesson for injuring her other son, a 4-year-old, while wrestling.
Officers reportedly called for an ambulance to take the boy to North Shore Children's Hospital.
Steifel, who was sleeping in an upstairs bedroom, was placed under arrest.
