Ding Dong Ditches, Incessant Doorbells, and Rapscallions With Flashlights

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log: 

Friday, April 11 

  • At 9:10 a.m., someone found a wallet in the laundry mat. Returned to owner. 
  • At 2:50 p.m., police responded to a call about a suspicious letter that "turned out to be nothing" 
  • At 8:35 p.m., a caller reported to police that there is a group of people with flashlights walking into the conservation area on Lafayette Street. Police found that it was two kids from Salem, who were asked to move along 
  • At 8:40 p.m., a resident reported that a large group of kids were trying to cross through her yard on Village Street 
  • At 8:58 p.m., police responded to a group of kids in the Arrowhead Road neighborhood who are ringing door bells. The caller recorded the group on video and believes he knew one of the kids 
Saturday, April 12 
  • At 12:36 a.m., police responded to complaints of loud music coming from an SUV parked on Leggs Hill Road 
  • At 12:51 a.m., a caller reported that her doorbell had been ringing constantly for nearly an hour since she had put out some mail 
  • At 7:18 a.m., police arrested three at a loud party on Pleasant Street. Robert J. Masse, 83 Pleasant St., Apt. 5, 43, Marblehead, was arrested for disturbing the peace. Erin G. Carr, 34, 83 Pleasant St., Apt. 5, Marblehead, arrested for disturbing the peace. Katherine G. Carr, 38, 7 Munroe St., Apt. 1, Beverly, arrested for disturbing the peace 
  • At 2:06 p.m., a resident from Creesy Street called because he was upset that someone parked in his spot 
  • At 2:49 p.m., an officer received a scam call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. 
  • At 9:20 p.m., police assisted the fire department at a brush fire on Old Salem Road 
  • At 10:41 p.m., callers report a loud group on Follett Street
Sunday, April 13 
  • At 4:07 a.m., a resident called from Humphrey Street to state that a friend's ex-girlfriend was there and was being asked to leave and would not. The person was asked to leave by police, and did.
