An OUI and a Dog Beating

The following information came from the Marblehead Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Aug. 3

  • At 1:06 a.m. , police charged Chase Nevins, 17, of 19 Cheever Ave., Marblehead with OUI liquor, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, speeding and a number plate violation.
  • At 10:04 a.m., police received a report that POD was blocking a driveway on Knights Hill Road.
  • At 10:33 a.m., a car hit an unoccupied carriage at Green and Elm Streets.
  • At 1:14 p.m., a caller reported that a dinghy washed ashore at Naugus Avenue.
  • At 5:11 p.m., police received a report from Swampscott about an armed robbery at Olympia Sports at 450 Paradise Road.
Sunday, Aug. 4
  • At 1:07 a.m., police received a report of a large group of loud kids on Smith Street.
  • At 12:16 p.m., police received a report that shorts were shoplifted from a Washington Street store.
  • At 1:20 p.m., police received a report of a breaking and entering on Jefferson Street. A laptop was stolen.
  • At 5:03 p.m., a walk-in dropped off a debit card found on Washington Street. The bank center asked that the card be destroyed.
  • At 5:57 p.m., a tree was reportedly down in the roadway at Maple Street. The tree department was called to the scene.
  • At 9:49 p.m., a caller reported seeing a man walking on Tedesco who was beating and kicking his dog. The caller said the man continued to do the same to the dog on Mystic Road before entering a house. 
  • At 10:10 p.m., an Auburndale Road caller said there was a knock on the door and, upon answering it, no one was there but someone had left a tray of food.
