Alleged Drunk Driver Facing Slew of Charges Following Orne Street Crash

A local man is expected to be arraigned on a host of charges following an alleged drunk driving accident on Orne Street.

A Marblehead man was arrested for his second drunken driving offense Saturday night following a crash on Orne Street that snapped a utility pole.

James Hampton Wade, 22, of 33 Birch St., Marblehead, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, second offense; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, second offense; negligent operation of a motor vehicle; leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage and resisting arrest.

At 9:12 p.m., local police and fire units responded to Orne Street for a report of a hit-and-run accident that had just snapped a utility pole in half.

Following the crash, Wade reportedly fled the scene and was later located on Beacon Street.

Wade is expected to be arraigned in Lynn District Court on Monday.

Nothing will happen to him until he kills someone, then he'll get 2-1/2 years and be right back behind the wheel again.
