Obituary: Barbara Marie (Blevins) Gayne, 92, of Marblehead

Barbara M. (Blevins) Gayne, age 92, of Marblehead, died on Saturday May 10, 2014 at the Lafayette Nursing Home where she resided. She was the wife of the late Richard V. Gayne.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Marie (McKay) Blevins. She lived in Marblehead for the past 60 years.
Barbara was a longtime Marblehead School Crossing Guard. She was also a longtime communicant of Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church and was a former member of the Choir. She loved to play the piano for her family and friends.

She leaves a daughter Lorraine G. Sheehan, a son Richard V. Gayne and his wife Kathy of Marblehead, three grandchildren Richard V. "Trey" Gayne, III, Michael Sheehan and Jed Sheehan, four great-grandchildren Ella Sheehan, Ted Sheehan, Tristan Sheehan and Tessa Sheehan, and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was the sister of the late John Blevins and Carol Boldrighini.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9AM from the Eustis & Cornell Funeral Home 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church, Marblehead at 10AM. Burial in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 PM.
