Erick grew up north of Boston fishing the Danvers River and Massachusetts Bay targeting Striped Bass. In 2005 he decided to try kayak fishing to get away from the crowds on shore. Since then he hasn’t looked back and now pedals a Revolution 13. His biggest striper from the yak to date is 49“s. Erick competes in many tournaments around New England and New York and online. He’s an active supporter of New England kayak Fishing and his dream is to catch a bluefin tuna from the kayak without the aid of a mothership.

Eric Hromada

Raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts, Eric has been dedicated to the pursuit of fresh and saltwater fish since he was old enough to hold a fishing pole. He spent his early years fly and spin fishing for New England’s fresh and saltwater game fish while working on a private charter boat during the summer. After receiving his BS in Fisheries Biology he relocated to Vermont where Northern Pike, Bass, and Trout were his primary targets. Moving back to the North Shore he began fly fishing for striped bass while working as a shore based fly fishing guide. In 1999 he won the United Fly Tyers John Heath Memorial Award in fly tying, he later volunteered his time to serve on the United Fly Tyers Board of Directors where he also taught beginner and intermediate fly tying classes.

Eric began kayak fishing (with the support of his wife) as way to fish areas of water that were unreachable from the shoreline and too shallow to fish by boat.  Since then he believes getting involved in kayak fishing was the best fishing related decision he has ever made. These days Eric is a regular contributor to New England Kayak Fishing and volunteer’s time as a Recreational Advisory Panel member with the New England Fisheries Management Council. Eric can be found avidly pursuing New England’s fresh and saltwater game fish. He participates in several charity tournaments annually including the online tournament “Kayak Wars”.  Eric looks forward to promoting the sport of kayak fishing, and spending time fishing with his son.=
