Hundreds of town residents crowded the National Grand Banks's new parking lot Friday night to take part in the Chamber of Commerce's annual tree lighting celebration.

A new Marblehead holiday tradition was born in the center of town Friday night as hundreds of area residents crowded into the 's new parking lot to take part in the 's 41st annual tree lighting celebration.

The 15 recently-planted maple, oak and pear trees lining the bank's parking lot may be small in stature now, but event organizers urged those in attendance to picture them in five to ten years - when the annual illumination will truly be a sight to see.
