Marblehead Navigators Take 2nd in League X-Country Championship

MCCPS Navigators X-Country Team Earns 2nd Place in MCSAO League Championship

The Marblehead Community Charter Public School cross country team came in second out of eight teams in the Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Organization (MCSAO) Championship meet last Saturday, November, 3rd at Winnekenni Park in Haverhill, MA.

In the MCSAO’s closest league championship, the MCCPS Navigators garnered 48 points, second to Prospect Hill Academy’s top finish of 44 points. Kipp Academy of Lynn came in third with 74 points. Three MCCPS runners finished in the top ten (out of 94 runners) and received medals for their placement:  Jack Krivit, (eighth grade) finished second overall, Connor Elliott (sixth grade) finished eighth overall, and Ethan Snook (sixth grade) finished tenth overall. Runners Gavin Snook (fifth grade) and Henry Jalbert (sixth grade), were also contributors to the team score.

While disappointed not to take home the Championship trophy, Coach Eric Rothblatt could not be more proud of his team’s accomplishments.  “This team started out strong and just kept going. I am really proud of their determination and teamwork. With so many young runners, fifth and sixth graders, I am sure next year will bring even more great things for this team.”
