The Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination is now scheduled for Saturday, July 5.

The Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination has been postponed from the Fourth of July to July 5, according to organizers.

"With the updated weather forecast showing the cold front only moving offshore late on July 4th combined with tropical storm Arthur passing to the southeast of our waters late Friday night into early Saturday morning, the town of Marblehead has decided today to move the Marblehead Fireworks & Harbor Illumination to Saturday, July 5th," organizers said in a Facebook post. "This decision was made after detailed consultation Town Administration, Public Safety officials, expert weather forecasters, and the fireworks provider, as well as the barge operator."

If Tropical Storm Arthur changes course and sea conditions on Saturday morning will make it impossible to move the fireworks barge to Marblehead Harbor and load the fireworks safely, the show would be cancelled. If the show will be cancelled, that would be announced on Saturday morning.
