The Salem Farmers’ Market is a tradition that dates back to 1634. Every Thursday from June 12 through October 23, dozens of vendors fill Derby Square, providing a convenient and congenial means of purchasing locally grown or prepared food products all while supporting local agriculture and producers by providing a direct market or their produce and goods. 3:00 pm.

Salem Wine Imports hosts their Thursday Wine workshops at 6:30 pm every week. This evening will feature higher end wines on a theme with a short lecture and lite appetizer bites. Return to the back porch for the Salem Athenæum's Summer Salons--informal and informational gatherings on Friday evenings in July and August. The third Summer Salon Lecture is by Hannah Diozzi. Hannah became a volunteer guide for Boston by Foot in 1995, and has since trod over cobblestones, garden paths, grand boulevards, and secret alleys. She shares her tales from the streets and houses, from the people who take the tours and from those who live in the toured neighborhoods. Hannah has lived in Salem since 2001, and began operating her own walking-tour business, Salem Strolls, in 2004. Salem Athenaeum (337 Essex Street). 5:30 pm.

Studio 2, a Beatles tribute band, will play a selection of your favorite oldies. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic, and enjoy a summer evening with music. There is no rain date.
