5 Things to Do This Weekend

Here are our picks for five things to do in town this weekend

Buy a New Plant: The Marblehead Garden Club will host their 81st Annual Plant Sale Saturday at Community Center on Atlantic Avenue. The event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will feature wildflowers, perennials, annual, herbs, rock garden plants and ground cover plants.

Enjoy the Classics: The will be held at Saturday night. A reception is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and the concert will kick off at 8 p.m. Tickets for balcony seats are $25. Proceeds from Star-Spangled Pops will benefit the education and preservation programs of Marblehead Museum & Historical Society and the scholarships and service projects of The Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor.

Get the Kids Out of the House: The , located on Community Road, will host on Sunday. According to the events page, The J Experience creates an opportunity for your kids to get involved in sports, arts and cultural activities at the JCC. All kids ages 10-16 are welcome! They'll participate in basketball, soccer, tennis, culinary arts and will even create a mural. Ages 10-12 is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and ages 13-16 is from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Cheer: 's boys' varsity lacrosse team Saturday morning at the high school. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., so consider stopping by to cheer them on.

Live Music: Steve Forbert and Sarah Blacker will be performing at tonight. The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door.
