On Wednesday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. St. Michael’s Church,
Marblehead, Massachusetts will launch its Tercentenary Lecture series with “Marblehead: 1714”, an illustrated
presentation by historian Judy Anderson discussing community and social life in
the historic seaport in the year St. Michael’s Church was erected.  The lecture will be presented in the Parish
Hall at 26 Pleasant Street.  It is free
and open to the public and all are welcome to attend.   For

Formerly
curator of the Jeremiah Lee Mansion and a frequent lecturer on Marblehead
topics, Judy Anderson is author of the award-winning Glorious Splendor: The 18th-Century Wallpapers in the Jeremiah Lee
Mansion
.  Currently principal of Marblehead Architecture Heritage,
Anderson’s February 26 lecture will focus on community and social life in 1714,
including how Marblehead residents dressed and furnished their houses.  She will also describe the many domestic and
public buildings being constructed in the seaport town in the early years of
the 18th century.



Forthcoming presentations in the St. Michael’s Church Tercentenary
Lecture Series will feature author Robert Booth, Tuesday, March 11 speaking
about “Who Filled the Pews in
St. Michael’s
Church: 1714-1750?” and architect Edward
O. Nilsson, Wednesday, April 30 discussing “The
Architecture of
St. Michael’s:
English and Dutch Antecedents
.”
