Halloween Team Race

The Eastern Yacht Club is hosting the fourth annual Halloween Team Race on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27. Eight teams will compete including the Eastern, Boston and Corinthian Yacht Clubs from Marblehead; Vineyard Haven Yacht Club from Vineyard Haven MA; Bristol Yacht Club from Bristol, RI;  New York Yacht Club from New York, NY; Noroton Yacht Club from Darien, CT; and  Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club from Oyster Bay, NY. The Eastern Yacht Club won the event in 2012 so will be looking to keep the trophy on home turf again this year. 

Team racing is a very exciting format of sailing - short courses with lots of lead changes. All the action will take place inside Marblehead harbor in full view of the EYC porch where there will be a color commentator calling the play by play all weekend. 

The racing is expected to begin at approximately 10 a.m. and continue through 5 p.m. on Saturday, and until 3 p.m. on Sunday. The club bar will open at 11 a.m. each day (non-members can purchase drink tickets throughout the weekend).
