From Moscow To Manchester-By-The-Sea Art & Culture Exhibit

Experience the richness of Russian culture at the Manchester Community Center from July 26 - August 4, at an exhibition showcasing fine art, Russian handicrafts, food, live music and some historical connections between Russia and New England! "From Moscow to Manchester-By-The-Sea Art & Culture Exhibit" is organized by From Russia With Art Gallery and the Russian American Cultural Center At Russia Wharf (RACC) in Manchester Center. This exhibition features beautiful artworks by 13 Russian-American artists from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Ukraine and the Greater Boston area, including American Impressionist, Anatoly Dverin and sculptor, Oleg Kedrya. There will be an opening reception on Friday, July 26, from 5-9pm, hosted by Olesya & Jerry Koenig, with free refreshments and jazz music performed by Boris Fogel.
On Saturday, July 27, from 11-1pm, there will be "A Russian Treasure Hunt: finding connections between Russia, the North Shore and Manchester-By-The-Sea for over 200 years." A round table discussion, led by Margaret Coleman, RACC Director about the people, places and events which ties Manchester-By-The-Sea and Cape Ann to Russia.
On Sunday, July 28, a program for families with children will take place at the Manchester Community Center. Starting at noon, there will be a Matreshki nesting dolls presentation and then at 2pm there will be Russian fairy tales and storytelling by Larisa Dyan, Docent of the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, MA.
On Friday, August 2, Alexander Prokhorov and the opera singers of the Commonwealth Lyric Theater (commonwealthlyrictheater.com) will perform.
On Saturday, August 3, during the Second Annual Festival by the Sea, there will be a sumi-e painting demonstration by Bostonian artist, Jan Zaremba from 2-3pm.
