Marblehead Little Theatre Call Presents "Inherit The Wind"

Tickets are now on sale for Marblehead Little Theatre’s production of Inherit The Wind. The production runs January 25-February 3rd.  Inherit the Wind is being produced by Ted Merritt and Steve Black, with direction by Chris Martel, costume design by Elvira Schoenthol, production design by Evan DelGaudio, and sound design by Nathan Dykes.

Inherit the Wind is a classic play written in the 1950s, but is as relevant today to the country as the trial itself was in 1925.  A recent Gallup poll showed that 46% of Americans believe that God created humans in their present form, and state legislatures still tinker with what theories of life’s creation should be taught in school.  This play vividly and dramatically frames the issues, mixing both character portrayals of a brave teacher living among plain religious town folk with  larger than life figures based on Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan battling in a courtroom  over free speech, science, and the forces of creationism.

Tickets are $23 for adults with a special $15 for student rate for matinees only and are available online at www.MLTlive.org or at the Spirit of 76 Bookstore.  For more information about the show or the theatre, please visit the website at www.MLTlive.org.
