This is an antique hand pumped fire engine muster in which crews pump their machines to see who can shoot the longest stream of water.
The machines were built in the 1800s of wood, bronze, brass, and iron. They have been lovingly maintained for generations, and they will all be on display to see and touch.
Spectators are invited to try out pumping the machines!
It's a thrilling combination of historic preservation and athletic competition.
Marblehead has two teams in the competition, the Gerry 5 in the B Class and the Okommakamesit in the A Class. Come out and cheer your local handtubs!
A parade, beginning on Pleasant Street near the Veteran's Middle School, will precede the competition.
