Celebration of Love

The Marblehead Arts Association
(MAA) will host “Celebration of Love” on Thursday, February 13 at the King
Hooper Mansion, 8 Hooper Street, Marblehead, from 7:30 to 9 pm. The evening
will feature music, poetry and dance to celebrate the many aspects of love’s
expressions. A champagne reception is also included in the evening’s
festivities.

 The evening will feature love
songs by singer Nora Falk, a very popular entertainer with the Marblehead
Little Theatre. Accompanying Ms. Falk is John Arcaro, a professor of piano at
Berklee College of Music, who will fill the room with lively song, including a
sing-along at the end.

Poetry selections will include
the sublimely romantic to compelling contemporary works, as well as a few
sonnets read by young performers from the Rebel Shakespeare Company. Readers
will include BBC announcer Rhod Sharpe and performer Frances Poisson.

 Eustathios Stratis, a teacher well
versed in dance as an art form, will present his tango dancers, local couples
who have been practicing this ancient and seductive form of dance.  The dancers will be accompanied by Ken Hiatt
on accordion and Beth Cohen on violin.

The fee is $15 for MAA members
and $20 for non-members. For further information and reservations, contact
Greel at 781-631-2608 or visit marbleheadarts.org.
