The fresh, bright, colorful paintings of Barbara Naeser will grace the Stetson Art Gallery in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Marblehead throughout February.
Barbara Naeser, a Marblehead resident, is an artist member of the Marblehead, Swampscott, and Newburyport Art Associations, and is also a juried Crafts member of the MAA. She has won numerous awards throughout the North Shore for her paintings, and has exhibited at many arts festivals and invitational exhibits as well. She maintains a studio at Brushstrokes Gallery in Marblehead, and continues her artistic studies with a variety of artist instructors throughout the North Shore.
“I don’t have to look very far to find inspiration for a painting,” Naeser says.  “My choice of subjects is a personal challenge and unique to me, ranging from figures in a landscape, mostly family, to Tonka trucks, old stockpots, even gym balls…. playful objects from everyday life. They all have a personal significance.
” I have developed my own style, which continues to evolve.  I love color and composition.  My paintings are fresh, happy paintings; with strong bright colors, and loose brush strokes. Stetson Gallery is open weekdays 9 a.m.-2p.m. (1 p.m. Mondays) and during Church events at other times. The Winter/Spring/Autumn 2014 Gallery season will feature the following artists: March, Elisabeth Neville; April, William Cloutman; May, photographs by Amy Friend Roberts; June, the photographs of Rev. Wendy von Zirpolo; September, One Hundred Hearts, an exhibit by Kacy, Steve, and Noah Pierce; October, June Rhodes.
