Partner of Marblehead White Collar Criminal Also Gets Five Years in Prison

A Marblehead man and his business partner took different paths to prison in a series of frauds — but both are sentenced to five years in prison.

Jon Latorella of Marblehead had previously pleaded guilty to fraud. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

But his partner, James Field of Brookline, went to trial — and lost. He was sentenced to five years in prison on Monday, the Salem News reports.

Among their more shocking scams was setting up a fake company using an identity stolen from a young Marblehead man who drowned in the harbor in the 1980s.

Prosecutors say Fields and Latorella used several schemes to artificially inflate reported revenues at their company, Beverly-based LocatePlus Holdings Corp., starting in about 2002.
