Local Centenarian Recognized as 'Outstanding Citizen'

Lifelong Marblehead resident Doris Bartlett was recently recognized by the Board of Selectmen.

A local woman who turned 100 last month was recently recognized by the Board of Selectmen for being an Outstanding Marblehead Citizen.

At their meeting at Abbot Hall Wednesday night, board members recognized Doris T. Bartlett, who currently resides at the Devereux House and celebrated her 100th birthday on Dec. 31.

Doris is a lifelong Marblehead resident who attended local schools and was a cheerleader at Marblehead High School, graduating with the Class of 1929.

Devereux House Administrator Connie Paullis was nice enough to send along the photo attached to this post, which was taken during Bartlett's 100th birthday party.
