Octoberfest at the Corinthian Yacht Club

The annual event raised money for the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce and Marblehead Youth Baseball.

Auctioneer Hooper Goodwin bounced around the dining room chanting bids, the smell of comfort food, haute cuisine and fine wine mingled in the air and Too Human played soothing jazz and dance music Friday at the .

It was all part of the annual Octoberfest fundraiser.

Earrings glinted and shoes shined as well-dressed ladies and gentlemen sipped wine and socialized. The gathering also included families, with grandparents and grandchilden joining in.

The local partnered with Marblehead Youth Baseball for the event. Proceeds help defray the chamber’s operating costs and benefit local youth baseball teams.

Executive Director Ann Marie Casey said she hoped the event would raise about $10,000. Items auctioned off Friday included Vera Bradley accessories and an iPod touch.

The chamber also raffled off a trip for two to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

Among the servers was caterer Louise Moore of Every Little Breeze Catering, who served a homemade macaroni and cheese with sweet potatoes - and regular potato-chip topping.

served Nantucket salmon — a cranberry-glazed barbecued salmon — and clam chowder. ’s specialties included pulled pork.

Too Human’s selections included Latin and jazz standards and some rock including Van Morrison’s Moondance.
