What Should Go in Former Bakery Site?

The Orchard Bakery had a very short tenure — two days — at the location.



By now the intoxicating smell of fresh handmade pastries was expected to be a staple at 146 Washington St.

But the Orchard Bakery was not to be — though its doors did swing open, however softly, for a few days before the co-owners reconsidered the joint venture.

The question we have for you is what would you like to see in the 950-square-foot location, smack dab in the middle of the old part of town?  

The space's plumbing and electrical service is already built out for a food establishment such as a bakery or take-out restaurant, said Rich Cooper of RE/MAX Advantage Real Estate. It also comes with a full basement, he said.

The location has a history as a bakery, as the former home to Captn's Bakery.
