Selectmen Choose Red 'Keep it Local' Signs

Marblehead's Board of Selectmen approved a red Keep it Local sign Wednesday night.

The Marblehead Board of Selectmen were charged with picking one of three 'Keep it Local, Shop Marblehead' sign designs at their meeting at Abbot Hall Wednesday night - and had to decide between blue, black and red.

It's no surprise they passed on the blue.

And after a brief discussion, board members collectively decided that the black sign just wasn't what they were looking for.

The Selectmen, the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce and a handful of local businesses owners have been pushing for the Keep it Local signs for more than a year.

The signs, expected to be about 9 inches tall by 18 inches wide, will be posted at three locations in Marblehead.
