Rockhopper Cafe Closes Up

The Rockhopper Cafe on Washington Street has closed up shop.

It appears as though the The Rockhopper Cafe has closed.

The small cafe on Washington Street was closed for business over the weekend, the hours of operation sign was taken out of the window and the interior entrance inside of Haley's Wine & Spirits had been blocked off.

The inside of the cafe appeared to have been completely cleaned out sometime Saturday afternoon, chairs were stacked on top of tables, and according to Friday morning's police log, the owner called the local police department Thursday morning to report that she had been "locked out by the landlord."

The Rockhopper Cafe opened in the former home of Foodie's Feast in the summer of 2011. It remains unclear whether it will be reopening.

Marblehead Patch will be posting additional information as it becomes available.

The word on the street is that Paul and Julie have taken the space over again. I do not know if they will operate Foodies Feast again out of that location but it would be great if they did.

The Rock Hopper won't be missed. Foodie's is back and it looks as if it will be expanded. If it holds true to its former self , it will be cleaner, the food better and more plentiful, with a wider choice, and the people more knowledgeable and friendly.
