Comella's Plans for March Opening

The town's newest Italian eatery is preparing to open its doors in the next couple months.

Comella's will be dishing up its signature homemade Italian meals in Marblehead by March if all goes according to plan.

If you've gone by 50 Atlantic Ave. recently you've seen the "Now Hiring" signs in the windows of the new restaurant -- managers, front staff and cooks are welcome to apply online -- as well as signs of the interior renovations underway.

A recent update on the company's Facebook page said its entree to the North Shore dining scene will be opening the first week in March.

Co-owner John Comella was not immediately available for comment.

The small eatery is expected to seat 12, but generate most of its business from meals-to-go. Comella's is a family-owned chain of Italian restaurants in the Boston area.

The Zoning Board of Appeals granted approvals for the new business this past fall, changing the allowed use of the building back to a restaurant from retail.
