After 5 Years, Business Returning to Humphrey Street Storefront

Wondering what's going on at that long-vacant storefront on Humphrey Street? We've got an answer.

Every week, we set out to answer a question sent in by one of our readers as part of our You Ask...Patch Answers column.

On Monday, we received this question from local resident Brett McCarty:

Do you know what's going into the old convenience store space on Humphrey Street across from Clifton Avenue? It's been boarded up for the 5 1/2 years we've lived in town and suddenly in the past week the boards are off and activity is happening.

When we stopped by Monday afternoon, the lights were on, the door was open and Oceanview Glass owner Steve Graves was hard at work in the rear of the shop, getting the space ready for business.

"I'll go before the board in February, but for now, I'm just trying to get ready," Graves said, adding that he was unsure when his new location will open for business. "You can let people know, I'm going to fix it up really nice."

Graves is moving to Humphrey Street from his former location at 387 Atlantic Ave.

According to the company's Marblehead Patch directory listing: "Oceanview Glass is the place to go for window and screen repair or replacement. The company services both commercial and residential properties."

Oceanview Glass specializes in rewiring and fixing screens of all sizes, as well as providing new ones if the old is beyond repair. The shop also repairs or replaces windows of any size from larger windows to smaller panes found in doors, decorative windows and garage doors - they also will help replace tabletop glass, mirrored glass and even glass shower doors.
