Applications Being Accepted For School Committee Seat
The School Committee should be at full strength — a full complement of five members — when it meets Sept. 19.
Anyone interested in filling a vacancy on the School Committee is invited to apply.
The opening arose today, Aug. 15, when member Richard Nohelty's resignation took effect.
On Wednesday at the seletmen's meeting, School Committee Chairman Kathy Leonardson outlined the process — as defined by law and policy — for filling the opening.

Filling Vacancy on School Committee- Unexpired Term
People interested in being considered for appointment to fill the anticipated vacancy on the School Committee are asked to:
- submit a letter of interest
- a detailed resume
- what you would bring to the school committee
Two copies of materials should be submitted – both on the same day- one to the Board of Selectmen and one to the School Committee (addresses below).

Deadline for submission is Thursday September 12th at 5 PM. Late applications will not be accepted.

The date for interviews and appointment by the joint School Committee- Board of Selectmen is scheduled for Wednesday September 18th, 8 PM Selectmen’s Room, Abbot Hall.

Whoever is selected for the Nohelty seat will have to run for election in the spring if the person wants to continue serve on the committee.
The School Committee and Board of Selectmen are no strangers to filling vacancies. Just last month the members selected William Ackerman to fill the committee seat that had been occupied by EuRim Chun.
