Most local residents know that there is a treasure trove of historical items from Marblehead's past in the attic of . But it's what's in the basement that was the focus of this week's Viewfinder.
At a Selectmen's meeting Wednesday night, Marblehead Historical Commission Chairman Chris Johnston sat down with Chairman Dick Carlson to sign an agreement to work together.
The letter of understanding the pair signed listed several projects currently on the commission's radar, including improvements to the Maritime Room at and the promotion of an extensive sign museum in the building's basement that Johnston said "people just don't know about."
So, in an effort to spread local awareness, here's a closer look at the sign exhibit.
