Whether you're in favor of or against Footprint Power's plan to convert the Salem Harbor Power Station into a state-of-the-art natural gas plant, there will be a place for you to voice your opinion in Salem Saturday afternoon.

GASPP or Grassroots Against Another Salem Power Plant and Sustainable North Shore 350MA will host a 'Build Only the Best' Rally and Reception Saturday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The event will begin at the Salem Common at 2 p.m. and a reception will follow at the Hawthorne Hotel with music from The Blue Hotel beginning at 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, another group will gather for a counter-rally - Only the Best for Salem: Support the New Power Plant - at the Salem Common bandstand at 1:30 p.m. Those rallying in favor of the new plant will then "parade" to the plant, according to the group's Facebook page.

Will you be heading down to take part in either of the rallies on Saturday? Which side of the issue will you be on?

With any luck it will snow on the Global Warmers as they protest that the natural gas plant (which they previously touted as the solution) will make the world warmer. Ha Ha.

John, the "Global Warming" people are now "Climate Change" people, because we are now hitting the cooling phase of our bagillion-year old climate swings. Anything to find another way to either deprive Americans of rational energy, or to steal money through "cap and trade" (an energy version of "bitcoins"). Such rubbish.

just a note to the Marblehead snobs who are ruining businesses lively hoods and the people and families who work for them. blocking plastic bags and the power plant is actually hindering interstate commerce so rethink how you live your lives.
