Marblehead Residents Win 20 Pounds of Lobsters

Several Marblehead residents won 20 pounds of lobster from Marblehead Rotary Club's annual raffle.

The Marblehead Rotary Club has given away 20 pounds of lobsters to several winners - including “The Hooper Street Gang” - as part of its annual “Lobsta Raffle.”

Each winner receives 20 pounds of fresh lobsters from Marblehead Lobster Co. and invited to the Marblehead Rotary Club's luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 7 at the Boston Yacht Club at noon.

The winners are Doug Sears, Sylvia Swain, Phil DiCarlo and “The Hooper Street Gang,” which is Dr. Bruce Bolen and staff).

The chairperson of the event, Rotarian Gail Novack, said that she was gratified by the spirit and enthusiasm from the community in supporting the fundraising program. The money raised from the raffle go toward academic and camp scholarships is one of the most visible and important community projects for the Marblehead Rotary Club, according to an announcement from the club.

The drawing was held on Thursday, July 24, at the Rotary Club’s weekly luncheon meeting at the Boston Yacht Club.

In addition to Marblehead Lobster Co., other companies sponsored this year’s raffle including Dr. Keith Taylor; The Landing Restaurant & Pub; Alexander Falk; The Digital Docs; Dr. Corine Barone Cognata DMD; and The Marblehead Bank. Sponsors are: Tanya DeGenova; Dr. Steven Baratz DMD; Pheasant Hill Bed & Breakfast; Bluestone Capital; National Grand Bank and Shubie's.
