Mrs. Anne Akus, a retired elementary school teacher at the Glover School in Marblehead and a former teacher in the Beverly School System (1946-1978) reunited with former students at a reunion in her honor at Brooksby Village where she lives.
Mrs. Akus taught second and thrid graders at Glover.
On Saturday, a number of students came to see her to share memories and visit with former classmates.
“A few students surprised Anne a few months ago so when she mentioned she would love to see more of her former students, I worked with a few of them and we pulled together a reunion,” said Bryan Keohane, program manager, Brooksby Village. “People love Anne, so the response was overwhelming. “
“What a wonderful day it was,” said Anne. “It was wonderful to see all their faces again and meet their children and / or see photos. I loved looking at the class photos from the 1960s. It was a beautiful event.”
