Design Floated For New Playground at Devereux Beach

Here are your Five Things to Know Today:

1. Weather Watch: Mostly sunny and warmer than Wednesday, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

2. Heat Advisory: Marblehead is again covered by a National Weather Service heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Conditions will remain hot and humid through Saturday, the Weather Service says.

3. Buy | Sell | Trade: It's been interesting to watch Headers take to the "Buy | Sell | Trade" section of our site's new design, more so than in any other of the 11 Patch communities I manage here on the North Shore. Every day it seems residents are posting new and interesting items. For example: a Cuisinart soda maker, a telescope and a never-used gas grill.

4. Design Floated for New Devereux Beach Playground: The Marblehead Family Fund showed off this proposed design for a playground at the beach. They are soliciting comments on the design at their Facebook page. You can financially support the project through a donation jar at Lime Rickey's. There are plans to put a jar at Orange Leaf, too.

5. Local Girls to Appear in "Pippin": Two young Marblehead actors, Sophia Baum and Penelope Walker, will appear in the musical "Pippin," being put on up in Byfield by the Boston Children's Theater this weekend. Want to go? Here are the details.
