Starting today, you can help support some North Shore animals in need by heading over to Chet’s Video & Candy Shoppe.
Chet's says it's holding a fundraiser next month for North Shore volunteer Friends of Animal Groups, and to get things started on the raffle prizes for the March 2 event, tickets go on sale today at the store and Marblehead Bank.
Thep prizes are "five baskets full of goodies," according to Chet's, and that includes a Blu Ray player.
The fundraiser will benefit Friends of Marblehead Abandoned Animals (FOMAA), Friends of Beverly Animals (FOBA) and Friends of Lynn Saugus Animals (FOLSA).
The event, which will be held at Chet's, will run from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a raffle drawing at 8 pm. There will also be special sales at the store, a 50-50 raffle, face-painting (noon to 2 p.m.) and the Balloon Kid.
Volunteers from the shelter and rescue groups will be on hand to discuss ways to adopt, rescue and foster animals as well.
Chet's says the individual Friends groups are all nonprofit 501(c)3 entities with all volunteer staff members, aiding animals and the community by providing assistance with medical fees, feeding, fostering, sheltering and neutering animals.
