Tell Your Volunteer Story - Help a local cause win $1,000

This spring, the North Shore United Way will recognize local organizations who engage volunteers in making a difference.  NSUW will donate $1,000 to several winning organizations nominated by their own volunteers via NSUW’s new online North Shore Volunteer Hub.  LEARN MORE AND PARTICIPATE HERE.

The Volunteer Hub matches skills and interests with a local volunteer needs.  Find the Volunteer Hub at nsuw.org or volunteer.nsuw.org.  Sixty organizations have posted more than 100 local volunteer opportunities on the site.  Those needs can be found by filtering by specific issues of concern, such as homelessness, food, or children, or by type, such as mentoring, one-time, and youth appropriate.

From April 1-May 8, NSUW invites members of the public to find and respond to a local volunteer need on the Volunteer Hub.  There they can also recommend a local organization for a $1,000 donation by writing in to tell us a little about their experience. When the entry period is over, NSUW will recognize winning organizations with donations and by telling the transformational stories of their volunteers.

Why the Challenge?
While the North Shore is recognized as an affluent community, there is plenty of need.  The North Shore United Way supports dozens of local causes that improve financial security, health, and opportunity for children, families, and seniors.  The causes we support also need volunteers to effectively make a difference. NSUW invites residents to visit the Volunteer Hub at volunteer.nsuw.org where a video and contest page will demonstrate how to use the site.
