Old North Church Announces Christmas Worship Services

The members and friends of Old North Church extend an invitation to community to join us for worship during the week leading to Christmas.

At 7 pm on Thursday, December 19th, the church will host a Longest Night Service, a quiet time of candlelight and contemplation that acknowledges the difficulty of this season for people experiencing loss, grief or other hardship.  It will be followed by a time of fellowship in the Parish Hall.  The Fourth Sunday of Advent will be celebrated with a festive Bell Sunday service at 10 am on December 22nd.  On Christmas Eve at 5 pm, there will be a service especially for families with young children.  Then at 8 pm the traditional candlelit service of Lessons and Carols will take place.  And finally, at 11 pm, there will be a quiet, contemplative service adapted from the Moravian tradition celebrating community in the “love feast” and ending in candlelight and carols. Parking is available. The public in invited and encouraged to attend any or all of the services.
