Bishop Fenwick High School appoints new Principal, Brother Thomas Zoppo, FSC

Arthur Makar, President of Bishop Fenwick High School’s Board of Trustees, announced the appointment of Brother Thomas Zoppo, FSC, as the school’s 9th Principal. Brother Thomas will formally arrive at Bishop Fenwick on September 3.

“We are thrilled that Brother Thomas Zoppo is taking the reins as Bishop Fenwick’s new Principal,” said Makar, a Bishop Fenwick alumnus. “He is joining the ranks of outstanding Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and lay leaders who have led the school for over a half century. We are confident that his strength as an educator and financial acumen will help propel the school forward.”

A De La Salle Christian Brother who is originally from the Boston area, Brother Thomas was President of Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore, MD since 2009. He has over 30 years of administrative and teaching experience in Catholic secondary and collegiate settings.

Brother Thomas received his baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from Villanova University and has an M.S. in School Administration from Manhattan College. He was also a participant in the Boston College Catholic School Leadership Program. His work as a school administrator is enhanced by extensive Board service at a variety of educational institutions and organizations.

“It is both an honor and a privilege to be selected as the next principal of Bishop Fenwick High School, “ said Brother Zoppo. “After visiting the campus, it is evident that the school is a very special place. I look forward to advancing Fenwick’s exceptional tradition of excellence and further improving an environment that has allowed young people to flourish personally and academically for over 50 years.”
