Town and VFW Post 2004 to Recognize Vietnam Veterans

Noteworthies from today in Marblehead.

1. Veterans Notes:

The town of Marblehead and Chaplin Lyman Rollins VFW Post 2004 will present a commemorative award to all Marblehead Vietnam veterans or their families at the Veterans Day Service Nov. 11. 2013. To receive this award one has to have been on active duty any time between August 1964 - May 1975.  Veterans do not have to have served "in country" to receive this award. Veterans who served "in country Vietnam" prior to 1964 are also eligible.

5. Classic Car Notes:

In the wake of Sunday's rain induced postponement of the town's classic car show, it has been rescheduled for Oct. 20. The 3rd Annual Classic By The Sea Car Show sponsored by the Swampscott Recreation Department will take place, Sunday, Oct. 20, from 10AM to 2PM on Monument Avenue. About 150 cars are expected from early 20th century models to the big-fendered 50s and the muscle 60s with elegant models from throughout the years of automobile manufacturing.
