Pumpkins and Winter Parking Ban

Noteworthies in Marblehead on Tueasday, Oct. 29.

1. Library Notes:
  • The Abbot Public Library book sale clearance day is today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
2. Pumpkin Notes:
  • The popular Pumpkin DecoratingWorkshops offered annually at the Marblehead Museum are back! The Marblehead Museum has secured enough pumpkins for 25 children per session on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The event takes place at 170 Washington St. in Marblehead from  1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for ages 2-5, who must be accompanied by an adult and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 5-10. The cost is $10 per child, or $15 per family. Included are a pumpkin, decorating supplies, pumpkin stories and a snack. Space is limited, so reservations and pre- payment are required. Please call 781-631-1768 to reserve and pay by credit card, or stop by the Marblehead Museum at 170 Washington Street.  

3. Weather Watch: 

Tuesday's forecast calls for a sunny day with a high temperature of 45 degrees.

5. Winter Notes:

Selectmen approved the winter parking ban to start 12:01 a.m.** ,on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 and continue until April 15, 2014.  No parking is allowed on any street for a period of time longer than one (1) hour between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m.  In the case of a snow emergency prior to Dec. 2, 2013 all cars will be required to be off the public way and the winter parking ban would be in effect immediately.  No Warning Tickets will be given.
