DESCRIPTION:THIS CLASS IS DEDICATED TO CONSTRUCTING A HIGH-PERFORMANCE LO
 NGBOARD DECK  Students will spend five mornings or five afternoons desig
 ning and then  constructing a high-performance longboard\, including tru
 cks\, wheels and  bearings. This class is being offered over winter brea
 k (Feb 18th -  22nd) at two separate times:&nbsp\; the &nbsp\;morning cl
 ass meets daily from 9:00am  - 12:00pm and the afternoon class meets dai
 ly from 1:00pm- 4:00pm. The  cost for the weeklong class is $300.00 and 
 includes all materials and  hardware.\nWhat you will do:\nDay 1.&nbsp\;&
 nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Design and build the &ldquo\;press&rdquo\; n
 ecessary to glue the deck material (Baltic Birch plywood) together.\nDay
  2.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Finish the press &amp\; glue-up t
 he deck.\nDay 3.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Cut &amp\; shape the
  deck. Drill out the drop throughs for the trucks.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\nDay 4.
 &nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Finish sanding the deck.&nbsp\; Pain
 t / Polyurethane the deck.\nDay 5.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Ap
 ply grip tape and assemble the deck (includes trucks\, wheels and bearin
 gs).&nbsp\;\nAt the end\, what you will have:\n1.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&n
 bsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Your own custom-designed and built high-performance 
  longboard and an enhanced understanding of the physics and material  sc
 ience behind it.\n2.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Your own 
 press so you can make more longboards.\nTopics covered over the course o
 f the class:\n1.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Basic and adv
 anced carpentry and manufacturing processes.\n2.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nb
 sp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Materiality and how to change the inherent physics of
  a material through its physical manipulation\nThe class will be held at
