The Mary A. Alley Municipal Building houses 11 of the town's departments.

The Tax Collector's and Town Treasurer's offices are combined under one roof - and one director - at the Mary Alley Municipal Building.  

The collector is responsible for the collection of real estate, personal property, motor vehicle and boat excise taxes and other municipal fees. Tax payments are possible online. Details can be found here.

The Assessors Department also has its office here.  It provides Marblehead with fiscal stability by ensuring that the town's personal and realty property is promptly, fairly and equitably valued and classified. The Assessors Department determines the fair market value of all property for the purposes of taxation, and compiles tax reports for reference in the office. Volunteer opportunities are available as well, such as the Senior Work-off Program in which senior citizens can offer their services for clerical work.
