Reduce, Reuse and Recycle from the Marblehead Recycling Committee

Now that the kids are back in school, here are a few suggestions on reducing waste in your child's lunch that they bring from home.  I'm sure most mothers and fathers are concerned that these items will not be returned home, but in a short time the kids will become accustomed to new habits and it will become second nature.  They will also learn that reducing, reusing and recycling is good for our environment!

Always use refillable containers for beverages
A cloth napkin can be used in place of paper
Plastic utensils can be used and brought home to wash and use again
Plastic storage containers can be used for sandwiches and snacks in place of plastic baggies

Simple steps such as these will teach them good habits that will save money as well as the environment.
