When we last checked in on the former Fruit of the Four Seasons structure on Atlantic Avenue, the plan was to tear the building down sometime in early 2013.
However, with no prospective business owners lined up to move into the two new commercial spaces panned for the site, the timeline for the demolition has become increasingly uncertain.
A representative of Stone River LLC said Monday afternoon that at this point - demolition could take place "in a month or in another year" depending on whether or not an interested party or parties step forward.
So, as part of our weekly Visions for Vacancies column, we have to ask - what kind of businesses would you like to see sign a deal for the new building?
The new 2,000-square-foot space is expected to have two separate storefronts facing Atlantic Avenue and a handful of parking spaces along Barnard Street.

We need a killer breakfast place. Yeah the Driftwood is good and we eat there often enough but I mean a great place with everything fresh and big and mouth-watering.

Yes, a really good breakfast place would be wonderful. Or maybe a retro-style diner with great burgers. Anything, but no more pizza, we have too much of that in town.,

A sports equipment rental shop-tennis rackets and bikes in the summer, and snowshoes and cross country skis in the winter. Sewing notions in one corner, and socks and undies in another would be good too!

Ironically, we were just discussing this the other day. I am new to the area but what I have observed is that there are a lot of health conscience people here. I thought a great salad, soup, fruit and juice bar would be perfect. As mentioned in the article that it could have two store fronts, the bike and outdoor shop would work greatly!

This town isn't big enough for more than one of a lot of things. Lest you forget about all the other breakfast, healthy food optionand/or whatever else restaurants that have failed; a good business decision is preferred over the "another of what we already have" mentality. That said, of the current franchise concepts out there, I'd go for something locally owned but along the line of Cava or Chipotle. This could draw interests along all lines. Business people at lunch, kids after school and families at dinner time.
