A few ocean watchers lingered late Sunday at Devereux Beach in the cold and wind and snow.

Among them a lone wave watcher under the open pavilion's roof. A family and their dog dallied at the waterline, the tide rushing in, pulling back at their feet.

Seagulls tilted wings over cresting waves while on the calm side of the causeway lobster boats rocked at moorings.

Back on the ocean side surfers bobbed in the surf waiting for a ride on a storm-tossed wave.
