Despite chilly temperatures, hundreds of town residents made their way to the National Grand Bank parking lot Friday night to take part in the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce's annual Tree Lighting ceremony.

Our first tree lighting. OK so it wasn't Rockefeller Center. It was better. First, you could get near front row seats. Second, kids in the front row were bouncing all over with the music; third, it was a chilly and crisp night. Not knowing about winter (from California), my hands were kept warm with the oven mitts I found in the kitchen when we headed out. Most of all, everyone was having fun and unlike NYC, where you might make it out in the distance, you could be right in the middle with festive families.

Great event...you can see how much fun the kids (and grownups) were having!
But, what's with the all the blue on the tree???
