U.S. Chamber of Commerce Endorses Tisei

This is the latest in high-profile endorsement for the Republican challenger.

The United States Chamber of Commerce is endorsing Republican congressional candidate Richard Tisei for the Massachusetts 6th District congressional seat, citing his experience running small businesses.

“At no other time in our nation’s history has it been more critical that members of Congress provide leadership that protects and advances the interests of the business community,” Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donahue said in a statement announcing the endorsement. “We believe Richard’s election to the U.S. House of Representatives will help produce sustained economic growth, help create more jobs and get our country back on track.”

Tisei welcomes the endorsement as validation of his business credentials and legislative track record and vision for lower taxes and decreased regulation.

“As a small business owner, I am proud to have the Chamber of Commerce support my candidacy," Tisei said. “Americans need to get back to work, and its time for Congress to role up its sleeves and get started on the real solutions we need to jumpstart our economy. I look forward to working with the Chamber to support tax reform and address burdernsome regulations that are killing jobs in Massachusetts and across the country."

Tisei, a member of the Lynn and Wakefield Chambers of Commerce, is co-owner of Northrup Associates Realtors in Lynnfield and served as President of the Eastern Middlesex Association of Realtors, being named “Realtor of the Year” by the group in 2009.

“Unlike John Tierney, I know that it is hardworking small business owners who are expanding our economy, creating new jobs and supporting the American dream," Tisei said. "Now is the time to repeal the 2.3 percent excise tax on medical devices that would do irreparable harm to growing businesses on the North Shore, pass commonsense tax relief to help businesses grow, and end the intrusive practices of the Federal government that are damaging the fishing industry.”
