This Week's Grown Ups 2 Schedule
Here's what you need to know about filming this week.
The filming of the star-packed Adam Sandler movie Grown Ups 2 will continue in downtown Marblehead today.
Scenes are expected to be shot at a mock playground in front of Abbot Hall and outside the Old Town House during the day today; near Memorial Park Tuesday afternoon; and at Phillips and Lee Auto Service (now Lamansoff Auto Repair) on Wednesday.
Large equipment trucks were already arriving in downtown Marblehead early this morning and Location Manager Mark Fitzgerald was directing traffic outside of Abbot Hall.
This is expected to be the "rolling tire scene" when David Spade's character rolls through town inside a giant tire. Shaquille O'Neal, who plays the town police officer, is expected to stop the tire at the end of the rolling sequence.
Parking will be restricted around the Abbot Hall set from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
Though the filming is weather-dependent and Marblehead will be getting rain most of this week, here are the posted parking restrictions, approved earlier this month by the Board of Selectmen.
Washington Square: Columbia Pictures film crews have constructed a playground at the lower green of Abbot Hall. Intermittent street closings will occur around the lower half of Washington Square and parking restrictions will be enacted along portions of Washington Street through Tuesday at 9 p.m. for filming; and Wednesday morning through Friday at 5 p.m. for site restoration (removing the playground.)
Pleasant Street (Second Unit): Parking restrictions will occur along portions of Pleasant and Watson streets through Tuesday at 9 p.m. and will continue through June 30, at times to be determined. Also, intermittent traffic control will occur near Memorial Park while scenes are filmed on Tuesday.
Phillips & Lee Auto Service: Film crews will shoot scenes at Phillips & Lee Auto Service on Atlantic Avenue either on Wednesday. Intermittent street closings will occur along portions of Atlantic Avenue and Hawkes Street and parking restrictions along portions of Atlantic Avenue, Hawkes Street and Barnard Street will run from Tuesday at 5 p.m., through Wednesday at 9 p.m.
