Hungry Betty’s Reopens With New Look
Hungry Betty's Bar & Grille reopened at Village Plaza Tuesday with a new owner, a new chef and a new look.
At a meeting in July, the Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the transfer of three Hungry Betty's Bar & Grille licenses to new owner Jason Rakauskas.
The restaurant was signed over to Rakauskas by former owner and Swampscott resident Patty Johnson. Since that time, he's been hard at work, repainting the inside of the restaurant, hiring a new chef and planning out some exciting changes to the menu.
The restaurant, located on the upper-level of 165 Pleasant St., has two dining rooms, a 16-stool bar, capacity for 168 and a recently-approved outdoor seating area for 20.
Now Open: Yannalfo’s Ristorante
Earlier this month, Yannalfo's Ristorante opened in the former home of Pellino's Ristorante, located at 261 Washington St.
The owner, Brett Yannalfo, 43, of Andover, said he has always dreamed of opening a restaurant of his own.
"I grew up Italian, so hosting people is second nature to me and that being said, I am going to keep it as Italian, but a little more casual and sort of ‘comfort food’ Italian than what (Pellino's) was cooking," Yannalfo said.
Although the restaurant will still serve Italian fare, Yannalfo said local residents can expect to see some changes to the menu.

PEABODY
Peabody Five Guys Fires Up the Grills
It's taken just about a year to build it, but Five Guys Burgers and Fries is finally open at 227 Andover St. in Peabody.
The Route 114 fast food joint opened its doors Monday to hungry customers. Regular store hours are 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily.
The restaurant is located next to PETCO and across the street from Starbucks --the site used to be a Mobil gas station.
The company, which has burger joints in 46 states and six Canadian provinces, and 27 in Massachusetts, recently opened new stores in Burlington and Chelsea in addition to Peabody, and has four more in the works between Boston and Westford.
A Whole New Bagel World
Have you stopped in yet for your favorite bagel at the new Bagel World on Route 1 South?
The shop opened last week at 246 Newbury St. and according to the company website, the hours are the same as at the existing three locations: Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Saturday, 6 a.m. - 3 p.m., and Sunday, 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
No special hours are listed for the drive-through window. The City Council approved a special permit for a drive-through last May.
Restaurant Week Offers a Fortnight of Food
If you didn't get your fill of ethnic food at the main event on Sept. 9, Sunday also marked the beginning of the 5th Annual Peabody Restaurant Week, although it's technically a fortnight of food.
Restaurant Week, which is part of the International Festival, goes from Sept. 9-13 and then again from Sept. 16-20 at 16 different participating Peabody eateries, which should cover a wide range of palates.
Get Your Fresh Produce Now in Front of City Hall
The market is on the move...again.
Peabody city officials say that "in an effort to boost visibility and foot traffic during the busy autumn selling season," the Tuesday Farmers Market is moving across the street from the Leather City Common over to the lawn in front of City Hall. The Sept. 4 market will be held at the new location.

SALEM
Hale Street Tavern Owners Continue North Shore Expansion
The North Shore-based chain of restaurants that includes Hale Street Tavern in Beverly Farms is adding its first Salem location, according to the Salem News.
Serenitee Restaurant Group plans to open a restaurant named Opus in November in the space that had been home to Greenland Café on Washington Street in the downtown for the past few years.
In early August, Salem Patch reported that the new restaurant may add a function space to the new restaurant.
In Beverly Farms, Hale Street Tavern is undergoing renovations and will be closed until Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Serenitee Restaurant Group's other locations include 15 Walnut in Hamilton, Alchemy, Latitude 43 and Mingelwood Tavern in Gloucester, Cala's in Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Maggie's Farm in Middleton.
3 Potato 4 Goes to Vegas and Beyond
3 Potato 4 may be a fresh addition to Salem, but it's already shooting for the moon.
The Salem-based business is planning to expand to Boston, according to the Boston Business Journal. Possible locations for the business include the Prudential Center, the W Hotel and the Theater District, the outlet reports.
Boston Magazine reports the business may head to other cities including New Orleans, NYC and Vegas.
Speaking of Sin City, 3 Potato 4 launched a "satellite space station" at the Downton 3rd, a famers market, in Las Vegas on Sept. 7, according to the business website.

DANVERS
Danvers Food Truck Hopes to be Part of ‘Throwdown’
A Danvers-based food truck is hoping to go head-to-head next month with food trucks from the Big Apple.
Melissa “Missy” Lindeman and her husband Scott plus her brother Craig Gale all started The Cookie Monstah food truck earlier this summer. It made its debut at the Danvers Family Festival and fireworks on July 3.
Since then, the truck has been set up regularly on India Row near the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston.
But next month, the truck is hoping to take on its biggest challenge yet – the Food Truck Throwdown.
