TELL US: Did you Feel the Earthquake?

A 4.6 magnitude quake in Maine shook homes in Marblehead Tuesday night.

 

Did you feel that shaking?

An earthquake near Hollis, Maine rattled homes and teeth all the way down into Boston Tuesday night. Preliminary measurements by the U.S. Geological Survey said the quake occurred 16.8 miles underground and hit 4.6 on the Richter Scale. Lake Arrowhead is about 31 miles west of Portland.

We felt it on Lucia Road. Maybe about 10-15 seconds of cabinets and furniture shaking. In that instant, I Thought it was a large truck driving by at first or the furnace about to explode or even a car crashing into the property. Took the kids down to the basement under a doorway just in case. Neighbor called three minutes later and confirmed they felt it too. ~ DJ

Yes! My daughter did an hour ago, sitting 4 feet away from me at a desk. I did not, for some strange reason. Jersey Street, by Salem Harbor.

We grew up in Marblehead and now live in Shapleigh ME. Believe me, we felt it !!!
