Swastikas Found at Gerry Playground
The following information was submitted by the Marblehead Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log:
Tuesday, Feb. 7:
- At 8:11 a.m., police received an accidental 911 call from a home on Bayview Road.
- At 8:44 a.m., a local resident called police to report that cars regularly blow through a stop sign at the intersection of Sewall and School streets.
- At 11:21 a.m., police and fire units responded to Central Street for a report of an oil spill in someone's basement. The DPW was called to the scene to clean up the spill because the home owner's sump pump was pumping the oil from the basement into the street. Two vehicles were reportedly removed from the spill area.
- At 12:21 p.m., a Pleasant Street woman called police to report losing a brown wallet, "a bit larger than a checkbook" which contains cash, a license and pictures."
- At 1:24 p.m., police received word that an appliance had been dumped near Stramski's Beach.
- At 2:45 p.m., a Pleasant Street business owner called police to report shop lifting. The owner said they believed they caught the incident on tape.
- At 3:01 p.m., police received word that graffiti had appeared at Gerry Playground, which included swastikas.
- At 3:34 p.m., a local resident reported losing a green bag with red trim near a home on Humphrey Street.
- At 5:01 p.m., a man entered the police station to report that his girlfriend struck him in the face while he was driving. The man said he just wanted the incident recorded in the log in case she said he did something to her.
- At 6:22 p.m., a babysitter on Ocean Avenue called police to report a suspicious person in the yard with a flashlight. Police were unable to locate anyone near the home.
